The University of Manitoba operates on the lands of Anishinaabeg, Ininew, Anisininew, Dakota and Dene people, as well as on the traditional homeland of the Red River Metis.

Territory Acknowledgment

At the University of Manitoba, we recognize the historical significance of the land upon which our campuses are built. We respectfully acknowledge that this territory has been cared for by various Indigenous peoples for thousands of years and is the ancestral home to Anishinaabeg, Ininew, Anisininew, Dakota and Dene nations, as well as the homeland of the Red River Metis.
